Club Championship Day – Saturday 19th July

GENTS FINAL

The 2025 Lamlash GC Men’s Club Championship was played over 36 holes on Saturday 19th July, between Craig Young, the defending champion and Neil Stewart, who was competing in his 6th final, but was looking for his first win.
The 1st round started at 9.00am on a warm summers day. Neil ended the first round strongly and was 3up on Craig after 18 holes.
The final resumed in the afternoon and the 2nd round started at 1.00 pm.
By the 9th hole, Neil had increased his lead to 5 up.
Craig then won a couple of holes to reduce the deficit to 3up, but Neil hung on to win the match on the 16th green.
The game was played in a very sporting manner throughout. The caddies, Neil Young and Rory Stewart, and the referee, Alastair Crawford, were present throughout to support both the players.
Congratulations to Neil Stewart on a well deserved victory. And commiserations to Craig Young.

LADIES FINAL
Ladies Club Championship
On Saturday 19th July, Val Crawford & Susan Butchard played in the final of the club championship.
The Ladies were very well matched & the game was all square going up the 10th.
Val edged ahead and when they stood on the 18th tee she was dormie.  They tie-d the 18th & congratulations  go to Val winning 1-up.
